Beer, Beauty & the Bus!
Don’t forget to join us at The Maine Beer Company in Freeport on Thursday, April 18th from 4-7pm for our fundraising event along with our sister co. The Maine Photo Booth Bus Company . We will have amazing beer (of course!), raffle prizes from Patagonia gear to Sea Bags to Red Sox tickets and more!
The Maine Beer Companies motto is “Do Whats Right”, and that is just what they do. “We’re always trying to be better at making quality beer, treating our employees well, and taking care of our Earth and the creatures that live on it.” They are part of the 1% for The Planet, which means that they have pledged to give 1% of their sales to environmental non-profits such as Allied Whale, The Center for Wildlife, The Dian Fossy Gorilla Fund, The Bicycle Coalition of Maine, Maine Audobon and many, many more.
We knew that this was a company that we wanted to partner with for Earth Month, and they were on board! This event is going to take place on April 18th, 4-7pm in their newly expanded tasting room which features 20 draft lines, including some limited and brewery-only releases. They serve pizzas from our wood-fired oven using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Their new mezzanine overlooking the tasting room offers both shuffleboard and darts. In addition they offer merchandise, gift certificates, and bottles of their beer to go. During this event we will be selling tickets for $10.00 which will get you one beer of your choosing from The Maine Beer Company and a photo session in The Maine Photo Booth Bus (it’s funner if you get the beer before you do the photos if you get our drift ;)) You will also get the chance to take part in a relay for water.
This year Aveda formed a new global partnership with the nonprofit charity: water. This is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
663 million people in the world live without clean water.
That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Or, twice the population of the United States. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep children out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick. But access to clean water means education, income and health – especially for women and kids.
If you haven’t watched the video yet, please do. 100% of charity: water’s profits go to the field to fund projects because they have private donors covering their operating costs which is 100% amazing!
So please join us April 18th from 4-7, bring your friends and your families (kids welcome!).
We also have a Raffle in the Salon All Month Long!
The cost is $5.00 per ticket or $20.00 for 5.
